Recent Concerts

Bristol Chamber Orchestra has been delighting audiences in and around Bristol since 1963 with a rich array of pieces, showcasing both beloved classics and hidden gems across various styles and eras.

Recent performances have included lively selections like Handel’s Queen of Sheba and Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances, reflecting the orchestra’s range from Baroque elegance to folk-inspired vibrancy.

The June 2024 concert featured Piazzolla’s passionate Libertango, Grieg’s spirited Holberg Suite, and Grainger’s lively Molly on the Shore, providing listeners with a varied musical journey.

In March 2024, the orchestra brought a more reflective and intimate program, with Finzi’s tender Romance, Bartók’s nostalgic An Evening in the Village, and Wirén’s Serenade for Strings. This concert also featured Marcello’s Oboe Concerto, showcasing a skilled soloist and adding a distinctive baroque flair.

Previous concerts have featured exciting solo performances, like Mozart’s lyrical Piano Concerto No. 23 and Vivaldi’s evocative selections from The Four Seasons.
